The Science

How FaceTite
works.

FaceTite uses bipolar radiofrequency energy delivered beneath the skin's surface, with the goal of treating both the fat layer and the dermal tissue in a single procedure. Individual response to treatment varies.

01
RF Energy Application
The FaceTite device delivers controlled radiofrequency energy beneath the skin's surface via a small cannula.
02
Targeted Heating of Tissue
The energy heats the underlying tissue, which is intended to disrupt fat cells and stimulate collagen activity in the surrounding dermis.
03
Skin Response Over Time
Many patients experience progressive skin tightening over the weeks and months following treatment as the tissue responds. The degree and timing of change varies between individuals.

FaceTite & Kybella

We offer both FaceTite and Kybella, and the appropriate option depends on individual anatomy, skin condition, and treatment goals. Kybella is an injectable that targets fat alone and typically requires a series of sessions. FaceTite uses radiofrequency energy and is designed to address fat and skin laxity together. Dr. Akbari will discuss which option, if any, may be suitable for you during consultation.

Important Information About Outcomes

FaceTite is a medical procedure and outcomes vary from patient to patient. The before-and-after images, testimonials, and descriptions on this page reflect individual experiences and are not a guarantee, prediction, or representation of the results any particular patient will achieve. Factors including anatomy, skin condition, age, lifestyle, weight changes, healing response, and ongoing aging all influence outcomes. Some patients may benefit from additional or alternative treatments, and FaceTite is not appropriate for everyone. Candidacy, realistic expectations, risks, and alternatives will be discussed during your in-person consultation, and informed written consent is required prior to any procedure.

Frequently Asked

Pricing varies depending on individual anatomy and the extent of treatment required. To provide an accurate quote, we invite you to schedule a consultation. During that visit, Dr. Akbari will assess the area of concern, discuss whether you may be a candidate, and review the risks, alternatives, and expected fees.
Both Kybella and FaceTite are options for treating submental fullness, and the right choice depends on the individual. Kybella is an injectable that targets fat alone and typically involves a series of sessions. FaceTite uses radiofrequency energy delivered beneath the skin and is designed to address both fat and skin laxity in the same procedure. Each option has its own benefits, limitations, side effects, and recovery profile. Dr. Akbari will discuss which approach, if any, may be suitable for you during a consultation.
Dr. Eli Akbari is a double board certified facial plastic surgeon with over a decade of experience and one of the few female facial plastic surgeons in British Columbia offering FaceTite. Our clinic has performed more than 750 submental procedures across both surgical and non-surgical options, allowing us to discuss a range of approaches with each patient and recommend what we believe is most appropriate for their individual case.
The timeline for visible change varies between patients. Some patients notice early changes shortly after treatment, while final results typically continue to develop over weeks to months as the tissue responds and any swelling resolves. The degree and pace of change is individual, and not all patients respond in the same way or to the same extent. Your consultation will include a discussion of what you may reasonably expect based on your specific situation.
FaceTite is generally considered a long-lasting treatment, but it is not a guarantee against future change. Outcomes are influenced by individual factors including weight changes, lifestyle, skin condition, and the natural aging process. Some patients may benefit from additional treatments over time. As with any medical procedure, individual results vary, and no specific outcome or duration of result can be promised. Maintenance recommendations will be reviewed during your consultation and follow-up visits.
FaceTite may be an option for a range of patients, including those with longer-standing submental fullness or skin laxity, but candidacy depends on a number of factors that can only be assessed in person. Some patients are better suited to non-surgical approaches, others to surgical alternatives, and some to a combination. There are also patients for whom no procedure is recommended. Dr. Akbari will provide an honest assessment of whether FaceTite — or another option — is appropriate for your specific case during a consultation.
