Scalp microneedling before and after
What Is It

Wake up your
scalp's natural
healing powers.

Think of it as a targeted workout for your scalp. We use a specialized device with sterile, fine needles to create thousands of controlled micro-channels in the skin's surface. This triggers your body's natural healing cascade — boosting blood flow, growth factors, and stem cell activity directly at the follicle level.

The micro-channels also act as direct pathways for topical serums, increasing their absorption by up to 3,000% and ensuring active ingredients reach the follicle where they're needed most.

Natural Stimulation
Triggers the body's own growth factors and stem cell release, awakening dormant follicles.
Enhanced Absorption
Dramatically boosts the effectiveness of topical serums and treatments applied post-procedure.
Minimally Invasive
A quick, comfortable in-office procedure. Most redness resolves within 24–48 hours.

Why Professional Treatment

Amplify your results.
Unlock full potential.

Option 01
Topicals Alone
The standard approach
Effectiveness
Limited by how much product can penetrate the skin's outer layer. Most active ingredients never reach the follicle.
Absorption
A significant portion of serum sits on the scalp surface, unable to reach follicles where it's needed.
Results
Modest results over a long period. Often plateaus as follicle access remains the key challenge.
Option 03
At-Home Rolling
The DIY approach
Effectiveness
Superficial stimulation only. Shorter needles and imprecise technique limit its ability to match professional results.
Safety
Higher risk of skin damage, uneven treatment, or infection if not sterilized perfectly before every use.
Results
Minor enhancement to topical absorption, but lacks the clinical power to deliver transformative change.

Frequently Asked

Your questions,
answered.

Scalp microneedling uses a precision device with fine, sterile needles to create thousands of controlled micro-channels in the scalp. This works on two levels.

Natural Healing Stimulation: The micro-injuries trigger a wound-healing cascade, releasing growth factors such as PDGF and VEGF. These stimulate dormant follicles, improve scalp circulation, and encourage healthier hair cycles.

Enhanced Absorption: The micro-channels act as direct pathways to the dermis, increasing the absorption of topical treatments by up to 3,000% — delivering active ingredients directly to the follicle.

Patient comfort is a top priority. The needles used are extremely fine and penetrate to a precise, controlled depth. Most patients describe the sensation as a light prickling or mild scratching. For those with more sensitivity, a topical numbing cream can be applied beforehand to ensure a comfortable, essentially pain-free experience.

Device & Technique: Professional microneedling uses a pen-like device with single-use, sterile cartridges. Needles penetrate vertically at high speed, creating clean, precise channels. Dermarollers enter at an angle, creating wider tears and increased trauma risk.

Depth & Customization: Professional devices allow adjustable needle depth tailored to different scalp areas. Dermarollers have a fixed, often suboptimal, needle length.

Safety: A clinical setting guarantees a sterile environment and single-use needles. Reusing dermarollers carries a significantly higher risk of bacterial contamination and infection.

A typical initial protocol is 4 to 6 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, allowing full healing and regeneration between visits. Results vary by individual, but most patients notice a reduction in shedding within 2–3 months. Visible improvements in thickness and density typically appear at the 3–6 month mark, with continued gains for up to a year as healthier hair cycles grow in.
Downtime is minimal. The scalp will appear pink or red for 24–48 hours following treatment — a normal inflammatory response. You can return to work the same day. We advise avoiding harsh chemical products, direct sun, swimming, saunas, and strenuous exercise for the first 24–48 hours to allow the micro-channels to close and healing to begin.
Absolutely — and this is where microneedling truly shines. By creating micro-channels immediately before topical application, it dramatically enhances delivery of Minoxidil or specialized serums. Microneedling also stimulates the foundational healing process, meaning the two approaches compound each other for a significantly more robust result than either treatment could achieve alone.
Scalp microneedling is suitable for both men and women. Ideal candidates include those with androgenetic alopecia (especially in earlier stages), diffuse thinning, or reduced hair volume — and those currently using topical treatments who want to significantly boost their results. A consultation is required to rule out contraindications such as active scalp infections, psoriasis or eczema on the treatment area, or blood clotting disorders.
